This is definitely not an anime you want to introduce to someone on their first time around! It's filled with the type of sexual Japanese humor that you can only understand if you are a native or if you have been an Otaku long enough to be unfazed by it. I initially liked it in the beginning because episode one will have you completely hooked on its hilarity and interesting use of graphics. It can be quite annoying as the show progresses (because the characters need to be taught more and they are indeed progressing) that there are A LOT of censorship. This can be incredibly hard to follow because we as Americans don't really understand how the Japanese interpret sexuality into media. For example, when someone says "she's got a nice rack" we know they're talking about her breasts. But stranger and stranger phrases and culture specific terms are used which make it really hard to understand. Some of them are linked to Japanese folklore and modern pop. (unless you follow that stuff). I must admit that because of that it did make the series a little less funny to watch. It's the same feeling as hearing a joke and everyone gets it except you.
While the storyline is quite humorous it can kind of drag on your nerves a little bit. I thought that Imagawa-San and Ando-San were the most cutest pair ever. But then it started getting frustrating when you realize that "WOW, you guys know NOTHING about sex!" If you don't like it when you watch an anime and you KNOW two characters like each other but both parties refuse to make a move, DON'T watch this anime! You'll only make yourself suffer!
I definitely won't offer any spoiler alerts but I have to say that the ending was a little sad. I wished that what had happened didn't happen but I'm just glad that it didn't end like Magikano (that's as much as I'm giving away) I think it's really cute what Hayao and Ando did in the end and it's a little "aww" moment for you in there as well. So while watching the anime can be quite a stretch you can at least know that the objective was accomplished and you didn't just watch an anime series in vain. (LIKE FREAKIN' MAGIKANO) I know everyone's like, "What's Magikano??? I feel like watching that now..." ............Don't.
So all in all, I had to rate this anime a 3/5. While I enjoyed breaking away from mainstream anime I think I may have flown too far off the Funimation bandwagon and landed myself where I didn't belong. One star gets knocked off for a viewer's inability to follow through with proper Japanese terms, phrases, and cultural references. That included all of the verbal and visual censorship. The second star was knocked off (and this one is my opinion) the length of time that it took for the characters to even ADMIT that they were interested in each other. God I hate those types of anime...I would still recommend it and to everyone, enjoy the show.
